Hello folks, just a brief break from our usual blogs to announce our wonderful new logo & the fabulous designer we worked alongside. šŸ„°

Apologies folks, this is why we've been a bit slow in publishing our next blog article. šŸ˜‰

We created our original logo ourselves, not really knowing how successful this website would be. For a while now, we've been thinking that we could do with a fresh & professional set of eyes on a logo that perfectly matches our mission & that embodies all that we are at "Patchwork Paws U.K." It was time for a change!

When an up & coming designer offered to bring her unique flair, energy, enthusiasm (boundless enthusiasm, I might add) & fresh ideas - "transforming ideas into compelling visual stories", of course, we jumped at the chance.

We are absolutely delighted with the end result, which also includes a bit of a tribute to our late & great Zak, who was a German Shepherd & the original "Patchwork Paw". šŸ™

We believe the logo perfectly embodies the love, loyalty, respect & commitment that exists between a loving owner & their cherished dog(s) - an unwavering bond.

We also believe that prospective adopters need to be very honest about themselves, their lifestyle, their home & family environment, potential future plans & their level of commitment, in order to make the best informed decisions during all parts of the decision making process. All we hope to achieve is to see rescue dogs go to the right forever homes, the first time around, because they have already been through so much. šŸ™

Furthermore, we also feel that a rescue dog needs time, love, patience, understanding, kindness, support, empathy & compassion in order to become a happy & settled family member. This can take up to three months, in stages, or maybe even longer - it can even take a year or more. The pace & timescale is determined by the individual dog, not us, & we must always move at their pace - giving them as much time & space as they need!

We, therefore, feel that our new logo perfectly embodies our whole website aim & ethos.

Using a German Shepherd in the logo also represents our support for the not so easy to place dogs - the brown dogs, the black dogs, the bigger dogs, the older dogs, the dogs who have been waiting patiently for a year or more for a home, & the dogs with health conditions, disabilities or perceived physical imperfections. We hope that anyone considering a new dog will keep themselves open to the dogs most in need of homes, & we think our new logo also mirrors this, too.

Now, let's talk about our wonderful, independent, up & coming graphic designer, "Sigres Designs".

Honestly, her enthusiasm jumped out of our screen every time we talked. Her ideas are very fresh, unique & progressive. She presented us with so many logo options to choose from. She was also more than happy to experiment with our ideas, too. We think she has the patience of a saint! šŸ˜† She even took the time to look at our website content so that she could come up with the best logo possible for us. Super committed! šŸ˜ŽšŸ‘

It was an absolute joy to work with "Sigres Designs" & she invested so much time & energy into helping us get the logo just right. We just had to give her a shout out on here!

We would highly recommend her & we cannot wait to collaborate on our Christmas logo next. šŸ„°
