Sadies Dog Rescue are desperately seeking a special home for a handsome, characterful, loyal & loving boy called Rusty.
Rusty was rescued as a puppy on the streets of Romania, & whilst all of his siblings have been happily rehomed for a number of years, dear Rusty hasn't been so lucky.
After spending an unbelievable four years in UK kennels, after his original home felt unable to keep him, Rusty is now living in a home boarding placement, which he has been living in for several months now. Here, he is learning what living in a home is all about & it is hoped that this should make his transition to his new home much easier.
With time, love, patience, kindness, commitment & consistency, you will soon be seeing the most affectionate side of this boy who likes to lean in close & seek comfort from those he loves the most.
You will also see Rusty the goofball as he gets dizzy with anticipation at walkies time & likes nothing more than to pick up a random shoe in the excitement of getting to the door.
Rusty will need to spend time getting to know you on a one-to-one basis before he comes to see you in his new home. A commitment to visits to his current placement in Goole, East Yorkshire, is therefore, a must. However, he can be homed anywhere across the UK.
Rusty is proving to be a model house guest at his home placement, when settled & feeling safe, he tolerates everything home life throws at him but he’s going need some help to get to this point in his new home.
Ideally Sadies are looking for foster with a view to adopt applications with an experienced home, who has good intuition & are very committed. Sadies will also consider a home with a willingness to learn & to do whatever it takes (Sadies are more than happy to provide support & training for the right home.) Rusty's new home must be absolutely willing & committed to working alongside the team & trainers.
Rusty does have a tendency to resource guard, particularly food, & he can be very choosy about the dogs he likes. Therefore it is felt that he might prefer to live as the only resident dog, although living with another dog might be possible in the right circumstances & with the correct management in place. This will be considered on a case by case basis.
Rusty seems to react to cats, so we feel it best that he goes to a cat free home & a home free of free roaming pets or animals.

Please help these two longterm, homeless, rescue dogs (Penny & Rusty) by sharing these two pages containing their details.
Both dogs are at very real risk of being returned to the Sadies Dog Rescue shelter in Romania, if homes cannot be found soon, due to financial constraints & a lack of interest. This would be a real shame given all the time & work that has been put into their rehabilitation & preparation for living in a home environment.
They are both doing so well living in their home boarding placement & they are now more than ready to find homes of their own, separately, in the UK. 🇬🇧
Please somebody give them a chance! 🙏
Thank you 🥰
